Translator’s note:
The main character in Jeong Ho-seung’s “Loving” is a fish from a wind-chime at Unjusa temple, named Blue Bubble-Eyes. Coming to life, they (metal fish are gender fluid) goes flying (sometimes swimming) around the world in search of a more fulfilling life. During the search, guidance is given across the miles by the Recumbent Buddhas of Unjusa. Finally Blue Bubble-Eyes understands what love is and returns to be reunited with Black Bubble-Eyes, who has been hanging and waiting under the wind-chime at the other end of the temple hall’s roof.
